ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The security forces have completely destroyed terrorist hideouts and camps in Afghanistan through precise aerial and drone strikes under Operation Ghazab lil Haq, the Information Ministry said on Thursday.

In a statement on X, the ministry said that “terrorist hideouts belonging to Fitna al Khwarij and Fitna al Hindustan at two locations in areas under the control of the Afghan Taliban regime were comprehensively destroyed.”

It added that large quantities of weapons and ammunition were also destroyed through “calibrated and precisely targeted aerial strikes.”

22 terrorists killed

Earlier today, the ministry said that 22 terrorists were killed in “well-planned and calibrated” aerial strikes on terrorist hideouts belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan in Afghanistan.

It said that, based on credible intelligence, selective targeting of terrorist camps and hideouts at two locations was carried out with precision and accuracy.

“Targets were destroyed with precision, and initial reports suggest the killing of 22 terrorists. Large quantities of weapons and ammunition stored at these hideouts were also destroyed,” it added.

According to the statement, Pakistan has always strived for the “maintenance of peace and stability” in the region. However, the safety and security of our citizens remain our foremost priority, it added.

It expressed concern that Afghanistan continued to remain a hub of terrorism, adding that the threat to Pakistan emanated from Afghanistan.

“In this context, our action precisely targeted the terrorist hubs,” the ministry said, adding that maximum precautions were taken to ensure there was no collateral damage.

The ministry said that “our relentless Counter Terrorism campaign Ghazab lil Haq under vision “Azm e Istehkam” by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.”

The latest strikes come a week after Pakistan carried out precision aerial and drone strikes on 10 locations in Afghanistan in response to attempted drone attacks launched from Afghan territory.

Information Minister Attar Tarar said that the strikes targeted locations used for launching and storing drones, describing the action as a “deliberate, precise, calibrated and proportionate” response.
