KARACHI (Kashmir English): Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) has announced to initiate legal proceedings against journalist Tariq Mateen after declaring his recent tweets as misleading and factually incorrect.
According to a notification from DUHS, “A high-profile delegation visited the Dow University of Health Sciences on 20th November 2025, and DUHS is pleased with the successful conduct of this large-scale event.
However, the tweet and related messages circulating on social media regarding the deduction of marks and compulsory attendance are false, misleading, and not based on any directive issued by the University”.
The Notification further added that “Any person found involved in originating or disseminating this misinformation shall be liable to disciplinary proceedings under applicable University rules and law, including, where appropriate, the relevant provisions of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Ordinance, and the rules and regulations framed thereunder.”
Earlier, Journalist Tariq Mateen accused the DUHS administration of cutting the marks of the student who refused to attend the event.
