MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Muzaffarabad district administration has banned swimming and bathing in rivers, streams, lakes, and water channels in the district ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr 2025.
According to the order issued by District Magistrate Mudasaar Farooq on Thursday, action will be taken against the violators under Section 188-APC.
Earlier, the District Magistrate Muzaffarabad imposed ban aerial firing, the display of weapons, one-wheeling, and drag racing in the district on Eid-ul-Fitr 2025.
“The ban will remain in force for a period of 09 days,” the order said, adding that action will be initiated against the person(s) found violating this order under Section 188-APC.
The order mentioned the concerns raised by competent authorities regarding the display of weapons and aerial firing during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays and especially on the eve of Eid [Chand Raat], which is “likely to cause loss of precious human lives as well as other financial losses.”
“In addition, young boys participate in deadly activities like one-wheeling and often lose their lives or cause physical and financial losses to themselves and others for the sake of showing off. It is very important to prevent both the above-mentioned negative activities,” the order read.
