MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Suleman Awan, father of Sudheer Awan, who lost his life during the Joint Awami Action Committee’s (JAAC) sit-in protest last year, has made shocking revelations about the circumstances surrounding his son’s death.
In an interview with Kashmir Digital, Awan alleged that JAAC chief Shaukat Nawaz Mir offered to settle my other sons abroad after Sudheer’s demise.
Awan claimed that after Sudheer’s martyrdom, representatives from the Awami Action Committee attempted to pressure his family into handing over the body, despite the DC Muzaffarabad’s efforts to intervene.
“The DC tried to convince them that the body should be handed over to his relatives and avoid prolonging the matter further,” Awan said.
Awan expressed confusion over his son’s involvement with the protest, stating that Sudheer ran a crockery shop in Muzaffarabad, and he had no idea how he ended up at the demonstration.
“I received information at nine o’clock at night that Sudheer Awan had been shot dead,” he added.
