ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): A student from Pakistan named Taimoor Hassan came up with the idea of Qalb, the most prominent AI language model that caters to the Urdu language only.
He is the one managing this groundbreaking project while he is studying in the US. In addition, Qalb was trained by the team using 1.97 billion tokens, and they also utilized seven different international benchmarking frameworks during the testing process.
The creators claim that it is the best Urdu model when it comes to major real-life tasks. Hassan is a youthful businessman with an impressive history. He has developed and sold 13 startups, claimed the Microsoft Cup, and has been a representative of Pakistan in several international forums.
After he received his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from FAST University, he is now working on a Master’s degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering at Auburn University.
Qalb is targeting the technology divide of over 230 million people who speak Urdu worldwide by making available to them the most advanced AI instruments in their native language.
Thus, it can pave the way for local businesses, startups, educational platforms, digital services, and voice-based AI agents. Hassan indicated that the project is a part of a more extensive plan to propel the technological future of Pakistan.
In addition, he collaborated closely with his undergraduate colleagues, Jawad Ahmed and Muhammad Awais, and the team intends to adapt AI models for various sectors.
He further stated that the production of new technologies is not limited to big companies anymore. Modern-day technology enables the creation of AI tools by small teams that can educate, automate, and serve thousands or millions of people, provided they still have fairly low budgets.
