MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Deputy Commissioner Raja Mudassir Farooq and Mayor Sikandar Gilani allocated a designated space for street vendors in Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) to ease traffic congestion and provide organised business opportunities.
Local citizens won with Deputy Commissioner Muzaffarabad Raja Mudassir Farooq and Mayor of the Municipal Corporation Sikandar Gilani who allocated specific vending areas for street vendors and stall owners. The initiative offers both effective traffic management and supportive conditions for small traders to maintain their business operations.
The Municipal Corporation delivered space to the Deputy Commissioner for preparation work which took place under his supervision. A new street vendor and stall location has been designated to receive all products currently situated in Neelum Bridge Haidari Bazaar and Tahli Mandi.
The strategic relocation plan expects to eliminate illegal constructions while creating a structured marketplace for existing small businesses.
In line with the needs of both street vendors and pedestrians, the decision to move them was made by Mayor Sikandar Gilani. Public inconvenience alongside blocked traffic must not interfere with the essential livelihood source of street vending according to the mayor’s analysis. He explained that relocating vendors to their designated area secures their daily income following better traffic conditions.
The Muzaffarabad Deputy Commissioner Raja Mudassir Farooq demonstrated his dedication to finding solutions that address urban challenges in the city. The new location will receive proper management from authorities who aim to create an orderly environment where vendors can operate independently from relocation threats. He requested vendors to work hand in hand with authorities to achieve this transition’s success.
Administrative teams plan to execute the relocation project during upcoming days which will deliver stability for both street vendors and people traveling through the area.
This initiative takes a reasonable approach to urban management since it maintains traders’ economic opportunities while organizing city accessibility.
