Sri Lanka names squads for Pakistan ODIs, Tri-series involving Zimbabwe

COLOMBO (Kashmir English): Sri Lanka has announced the men’s squads for their upcoming tour of Pakistan, which includes three ODIs and a T20I tri-series also featuring Zimbabwe.

The last time Sri Lanka played Pakistan was in the Asia Cup Super Fours when Pakistan defeating Sri Lanka to reach the final.

Charith Asalanka has been named captain for both formats for Sri Lanka. A major shuffle in the Sri Lankan ODI squad saw Dilshan Madushanka, who was originally named but ruled out owing to a knee injury, replaced by Eshan Malinga.

Meanwhile, Matheesha Pathirana has been ruled out from the tour as he recovers from an upper respiratory tract infection. Asitha Fernando has been brought in as his replacement, according to Sri Lanka Cricket.

T20I squad

The first ODI will be played on November 11, second and third will be played on November 13 and November 15 respectively, followed by the inaugural tri-series on Pakistan soil involving Zimbabwe, commencing on November 17 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The series will serve as a preparatory ground for the next year’s ICC T20 World Cup.
