LAHORE (Kashmir English): Rescue 1122 has created an all-encompassing emergency response strategy for Lahore, which will handle emergencies at the Basant 2026 Festival while providing efficient emergency services and maintaining public safety throughout the city.
Rescue 1122 emergency teams will maintain their emergency response readiness throughout the entire festival, according to a spokesperson.
The special plan will deploy more than 1200 rescuers throughout Lahore. The emergency response system will deploy 56 ambulances, 24 fire vehicles, and 300 rescue motorbikes, which will operate from multiple locations to achieve immediate operational capability.
Emergency response teams will deploy from 180 essential emergency response points, which support 23 rescue stations throughout the city to provide ambulance and fire service and motorbike rescue team coverage.
Rescue motorbikes have been dedicated to emergency response in busy areas and narrow street sections that need immediate access. Special rescue teams have been assigned to operate in high-security regions, which include the Walled City area, Mazang, Ichhra, Shad Bagh, and Data Darbar.
Official sources from the rescue department confirmed that Basant celebrations will not interfere with regular rescue operations and medical services, which exist to protect public safety during the festivities.
