HAVELI KAHUTA (Kashmir English): Shopkeepers in Haveli Forward Kahuta district have created an artificial shortage of flour, creating a serious flour crisis.
Due to the shopkeepers hoarding, the residents of Haveli Kahota have been facing extreme difficulties in fulfilling flour requirements.
According to the residents, they have to stand in long queues for hours to buy flour, but despite this, they often have to return home empty-handed.
Public circles have strongly demanded that the government take immediate practical steps to overcome the flour crisis and take the strictest action against shopkeepers involved in artificial shortages.
According to citizens, after the lockdown announced by the Joint Public Action Committee (JAAC) on September 29, shopkeepers bought five to six sacks of flour and stored them, which created an artificial shortage.
The shopkeepers want to sell the flour at triple prices, due to which they have created an artificial shortage before the JAAC protest.
This situation has particularly affected the poor and middle class the most, who can afford to buy just one bag of flour but are facing severe hardship due to its unavailability.
