MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Like other parts of the country, Shab-e-Baraat will also be observed in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) tonight (evening of Thursday, February 13, 2025 – Friday, February 14, 2025), with religious fervour and zeal.
Shab-e-Baraat on 15th night of Sha’ban
The Shab-e-Baraat will be observed with full religious passion and enthusiasm across the country. Shab-e-Baraat is celebrated on the 15th night of month of Sha’ban each year.
The religious bodies will arrange special Quranic sittings, Mahafil and seminars to highlight the importance of this night. The Auqaf Department will also hold Mahafil-e-Qirat, Hamd-o-Naat and Dorood-o-Salam in various mosques.
In connection with the night, various religious organisations have chalked out numerous programmes including Mahafil-e-Naat, Salat-o-Tasbeeh and Zikr-o-Azkar to educate people about the significance of this sacred night.
All big small mosques in the territory would be Illuminated with colourful lights. Muslims across the globe observe the night of the 15th Shaban with religious spirit. They would offer nawafil in mosques and offer special prayers.
Shab-e-Baraat is considered one of the most important Islamic nights, according to Islamic teachings. The philanthropists will distribute free food among poor and needy. They would help people in need, seeking mercy of Allah Almighty in this world and hereafter.
The night is commonly called as The Night of Fortune and Forgiveness that comes in the run-up to the start of the Holy month of Ramadan.
Some call it the night of blessings and accountability when Almighty Allah makes mass decisions regarding the next year’s lives, deaths and blessings.
The believers will offer special prayers for unity, prosperity, security, and restoration of peace in the country besides the prosperity and unity of the entire Muslim Ummah.
The police departments across the country have also finalized the arrangements for providing foolproof security to the devotees in order to check any untoward incident on this night.
