SOUTH WAZIRISTAN (Kashmir English): At least seven police personnel reported missing from the Ladha and Sarokai police station.
District Police Officer (DPO), Arshad Khan, confirmed the event, adding that the three police constable, Insaf, Abid, and Ismail, went missing while patrolling within the bounds of the Ladha police station.
He stated that four cops have gone missing from Tanga Chagmalai inside the jurisdiction of Sarokai police station. The missing policemen are identified as Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdul Khaliq, Sepoy Irfanullah, Habibullah, and Imran.
The DPO said the search for the missing cops is still ongoing, and no new information has been received.
Earlier, nine militants have been eliminated by the security forces in Hangu district of Khyber PakhtunKhwa.
In exchange of fire, the DPO and the SHO were also injured, which were later on shifted to the hospital for medical treatment.
IG KP said that DP Hangu was hit by 3 bullets in the operation, but his condition is out of danger. After surgery in the hospital, DPO Khalid Khan’s condition is now satisfactory.
