NEELUM VALLEY (Kashmir English): The Neelum Valley administration has imposed Section 144 on the banks of the Neelum River as a precautionary measure against potential floods caused by monsoon rains.
District Magistrate Nadeem Ahmed Janjua has issued a directive advising tourists or visitors to avoid visiting the riverbanks as a precautionary measure.
According to the notification, if anyone violates the decision, an action will be taken against the person under Section APC 188.
It further stated that the areas located near Neelum river as also on potential risk of flooding as the water level may rise and cause sudden destruction.
The decision aims to prevent any potential loss of life or property due to flash floods and landslides. Authorities have been put on high alert, with emergency response teams ready to act quickly if needed.
Tourists are urged to stay informed about local weather conditions and follow instructions from authorities to avoid any risks.
