MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The second round of negotiations between the federal minister, the Azad Kashmir government, and the leaders of the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) is scheduled today in Muzaffarabad after the Friday prayers.
The atmosphere in Azad Kashmir has become peaceful after the talks between federal ministers and the Awami Action Committee.
The high-level negotiation committee includes federal ministers Ahsan Iqbal, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Amir Muqam, and other leaders, who are hopeful for the success of the talks. According to sources, Shaukat Nawaz Mir and other leaders have reached Muzaffarabad.
Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal said that there is hope for a peaceful resolution of the issue, and maintaining peace in Azad Kashmir is the government’s top priority.
He said that the enemy country can take advantage of our instability; therefore, peace is necessary across the country.
Federal Minister Amir Muqam said that there is consensus on many issues, and problems should be resolved through mutual understanding.
Qamar Zaman Kaira said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is personally monitoring the issue, and a solution will be found through negotiations.
He said that the legitimate demands of the Public Action Committee will be respected, and the people will not be left alone.
