ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Tuesday announced a bank holiday across the country on Thursday, February 5, 2026, on the occasion of Kashmir Day.

As per the notification, “The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed on Thursday, February 5, 2026, being a public holiday on Kashmir Day, as declared by the Government of Pakistan.”

Moreover, the notification added that the commercial banks will also remain closed on the occasion.

Earlier, the federal government announced a public holiday across Pakistan on February 5 to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day.

According to the notification issued by the Cabinet Division, all public and private offices will remain closed nationwide on Thursday.

Moreover, the notification added that all citizens across the country will observe a one-minute silence at 10:00 am to honor the Kashmiri martyrs. The day is observed annually as a symbol of unity and solidarity with the Kashmiri people.

A series of special events, including seminars, rallies, and prayer gatherings, will be organized in major cities and towns to highlight the Kashmir issue and express continued political and moral support.
