ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Saudi Arabia has announced a fully-funded internship for Pakistani students with a monthly stipend of $1,000 and other facilities, including housing, travel, and health.

According to international news agencies, Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) has officially opened applications for its Visiting Student Research Program (VSRP) 2026.

The prestigious program is available to undergraduate and master’s students from Pakistan and across the world, including Pakistan.

Under this program, selected candidates will be given a monthly stipend of $1,000, while round-trip airfare, free accommodation on campus, full health insurance, visa support, and access to modern laboratories will also be provided.

The internship period will be 3 to 6 months, and participants will work on research projects under the supervision of world-renowned faculty.

The program offers opportunities in various fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, including computer science, engineering, energy studies, environmental science, and biological sciences.

During this time, students will gain first-hand exposure to world-class research and cutting-edge scientific methods.

Who can apply?

Students enrolled in Master’s and in the third year of their undergraduate degree with a minimum GPA of 3.5 are eligible to apply.

Moreover, the intership program requires proficiency in English, but IELTS or TOEFL is not mandatory. PhD students, current and former KAUST students, are not eligible for this program, it added.

To apply, applicants can upload an updated resume, official academic transcripts, letters of recommendation, a personal statement, and a copy of a valid passport to an online portal.

Applications are accepted throughout the year, and shortlisted candidates are notified within a few weeks.

Interested candidates can create an account on the official KAUST website and submit their application after uploading the required information and documents.
