ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The federal government is likely to increase the salaries of government employees by 10 percent. In the forthcoming Budget 2025-26.
Officials, according to reports, are negotiating with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to help the salaried class. On June 10, when it will formally unveil the suggested salary increase for employees, the federal government is probably to present the budget for the next fiscal year 2025–26.
A day earlier, the federal government’s special committee assured workers that their demands—including pension reforms and salary increases—would be reflected in the next budget for fiscal year 2025-26.
It added that Rana Sanaullah will preside over a meeting next week to decide on leave encashment. Reports claimed that an important meeting was held yesterday in Islamabad in which Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry Along with Rahman Bajwa, Chief Coordinator of the All Government Employees Grand Alliance (AGEGA), and other alliance officials, officials from the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Law and Justice, and the Establishment Division participated.
The meeting examined how the government’s written agreement with its staff members on their demands was carried out. Rahman Bajwa informed the media that after the meeting, Dr. Tariq Fazal promised that the government would carry out the commitments given to the staff members.
All reasonable trader demands—including leave encashment and the Prime Minister’s relief package—will be satisfied. Bajwa further stated that Finance Ministry officials guaranteed the government would uphold the written agreement reached with personnel.
Moreover, he stated that on budget day, millions of workers from all around will come to Islamabad to keep an eye on the execution of the agreement.
