RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): Sahibzada Farhan scored a match winning 106 off 52 balls in the Islamabad United-Peshawar Zalmi game at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium here on Monday.

Islamabad United thumped Peshawar Zalmi by a convincing 102-run margin to secure second consecutive win in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) tournament. It was Peshawar Zalmi’s second consecutive defeat.

Earlier, Islamabad United set a mammoth 244-run target while Peshawar Zalmi were bowled out for just 141 in 18.2 overs.

Zalmi’s wicketkeeping batter Mohammad Haris remained the top run-getter for his side, having scored 87 off 47 balls. He hit 12 fours and four sixes.

No other batter was found comfortable at the crease as seven of Zalmi’s batters were dismissed without reaching double figure.

Skipper Babar Azam also failed to show up for his side for the second time in a row as he was dismissed after scoring just one run.

Hussain Talat remained the second-highest run-getter for Peshawar Zalmi with 13 off 11 balls.

For Islamabad United, Imad Wasim claimed three wickets while skipper Shadab Khan and Ben Dwarshuis picked up two wickets each.

Earlier, Sahibzada Farhan of Islamabad United scored a quick ton to set a 244-run target for Peshawar Zalmi in the fifth game of the tournament.

Farhan and Munro stitched a 144-run partnership on just 72 balls, with Munro scoring 40 off 27 deliveries.

The partnership ended in the 14th over when Munro was dismissed by Alzarri Joseph.
