MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has released Rs 1.087 billion for the payment of pension to retired employees of local government institutions for the period from July 2021 to November 2024.
Local Government and Rural Development Department AJK has issued notification in this regard on Tuesday.
As per the notification, President Azad Kashmir has approved an additional provision of Rs. 108.695 million in Budget 2024-25 Grant No. 31 Miscellaneous under MZ7007 item A05206 Grant-in-Aid for Local Government Institutions.
The decision was taken after the approval of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet under Rule 26 (1) and Rule 28 of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Government Rules (as revised), 1985.
The notification stated that the amount will be used for “the payment of pension to retired employees of Local Government Institutions after calculation of the amount (commutation, pension, liquidation) for July 2021 to November 2024, subject to the condition that the expenditure will be implemented under the rules.”
