MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq has said that the relief checks have been issued to the heirs of five victims, who were martyred last night from India’s unprovoked shelling along the Line of Control (LoC).
Addressing the press conference along with his cabinet members in Muzaffarabad, AJK premier said that four people died in Khuritta and one in Bagh on the night of May 8 and 9 from India’s firing.
Further discussing emergency measures, Anwarul Haq said that the government has taken strong steps to counter any health service emergency in areas along the LoC. The state government has dispatched three ‘4 x 4 ambulances’ for Basic Health Units (BHU) in Neelum Valley and one in Nausadda, along with taking steps to ensure enough stock of medicines and first aid facilities.

The decision was taken during a high-level meeting held under the chairmanship of PM Haq, with the attendance of senior cabinet members, officials of the State Disaster Management Authority, Public Health Department, Home Department, and other essential service providers.
The prime minister has instructed concerned departments to allocate all resources in the regions affected by recent Indian aggression.
Furthermore, he said that a central control room has been established to monitor the situation and coordinate with the district control rooms established in areas along the LoC, and also that the weekend holidays of all departments providing essential services have been canceled.
He said that in the wake of recent Indian cross-border aggression, the government has so far shifted 319 people from the two affected villages of Neelum Valley near the LoC to a safe place, including 119 people from Ratta Pani village.
Moreover, Anwarul Haq said that several steps were taken for the victims of the Indian missile attacks and LoC aggression. He added the MLAs of the respective constituencies handed over relief money to the heirs of martyrs and the injured.
