BEIJING (Kashmir English): The Redmi Note 15 Pro+, which was first unveiled in China a few months ago, is now available globally.
While the global version keeps numerous key features from the Chinese model, Xiaomi has made significant changes to the camera system, battery configuration, display protection, and overall hardware balance.
The worldwide Redmi Note 15 Pro+ has a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3,200 nits, which matches the Chinese version in size and refresh rate.
However, the screen resolutions vary slightly. The global model features a 2,772 × 1,280 pixel screen, whereas the China-only variation has 2,772 × 1,220 pixels.
Another significant point of differentiation is display protection. The international variant is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, which replaces Dragon Crystal Glass in the Chinese variant.
The mobile comes with an in-display fingerprint reader, dual speakers, and support for Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio. It is also compatible with eSIM and has IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certification for dust and water resistance.
Even with a lower-capacity battery, the international variant comes out to be thicker than its Chinese variant.
The international Redmi Note15 Pro+ comes in four colors: Black, Glacier Blue, and Mocha Brown.
The Chinese as well as global variants of Redmi Note 15 Pro+ come equipped with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor. The software is also the same, and it is running on HyperOS.
The RAM and internal memory come in three different variations, those being 8GB/128GB, 12GB/256GB, and 12GB/512GB.
The connectivity tools that are common to both models are Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC. The global variant also has support for Xiaomi’s Offline Communication service, which allows two phones to communicate through voice calls over a range of a couple of kilometers.
Xiaomi has also introduced the Surge T1S Tuner, which came with a purpose to enhance signals in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and Cellular operations.
The camera arrangement is one of the biggest changes over the Chinese variant. The global variant of the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ packs a 200MP HPE primary sensor, which replaces the 50MP main sensor present inside the Chinese variant of the phone.
This sensor enables both 2x and 4x in-sensor zoom and has five different focal lengths ranging from 23mm to 92mm.
The global variant retains an 8MP ultrawide camera, but the telephoto lens of 50MP on the Chinese variant is removed by Xiaomi.
Starting with the front cameras: both phones feature the same 32MP front-facing camera.
The battery features and capacities are also not the same. For instance, the Chinese variant, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+, has a battery that spans 7,000mAh with 90W fast charging. The global variant has a smaller battery that measures 6,500mAh with silicon-carbon materials, accompanied by faster 100W fast charging.
The battery further includes reverse charging capabilities of 22.5W. The pricing of the international variant begins at $575 for the 8GB/256GB variant, while the pricing of the 12GB/512GB variant is $642.
