LAHORE (Kashmir |English): Green Shirts delivered a masterclass at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday, crushing Australia by 90 runs in the second T20I to shatter multiple records and secure a dominant series performance.
Powered by explosive half-centuries from captain Salman Ali Agha and wicketkeeper Usman Khan, the Green Shirts posted a formidable 198/5 after electing to bat.
Agha led from the front with a blistering 76 off 40 balls, while Usman’s 53 off 36 provided the perfect anchor. This total now stands as Pakistan’s highest-ever T20I score against Australia, eclipsing their 194-run mark set in 2018.
The second innings saw a historic collapse as Pakistan’s spin attack achieved a rare feat: claiming all 10 Australian wickets.
This marks the first time in Pakistan’s T20 history that spinners swept every wicket in a match, and only the second time such a feat has occurred between two Full Member nations.
Abrar Ahmed and Shadab Khan were the primary wreckers, taking three wickets each, while Usman Tariq (2), Saim Ayub (1), and Mohammad Nawaz (1) ensured the visitors were bundled out for a mere 108 runs in 15.4 overs.
The 90-run margin officially becomes Pakistan’s largest-ever victory over Australia in the shortest format, comfortably surpassing their 66-run win in the UAE six years ago.
With this clinical performance, Pakistan heads into the final fixture with the momentum of a historic series win.
