ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Raja Farooq Haider, met with Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in Islamabad on Monday. During this important meeting, Raja Farooq Haider stressed the need to raise the Kashmir issue more actively in the National Assembly.

He requested Bilawal Bhutto to become the voice of the Kashmiri people in Parliament, saying that Kashmiris are anxiously waiting for his visit and leadership. Raja Farooq Haider reminded Bilawal of the commitment made by his grandfather, former Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, who once said, “We will fight for Kashmir for a thousand years.”

The seasoned Kashmiri leader highlighted the urgent need for political unity on the Kashmir issue and urged PPP to take a firm stance. He also emphasized that this is a critical time for the people of Kashmir and they are looking towards national leadership for support.

In response, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari assured Raja Farooq Haider of his full support. He said that PPP has always stood by the people of Kashmir and will continue to raise their voice at every forum. He also expressed his willingness to visit the region soon.

The meeting between Raja Farooq Haider and Bilawal Bhutto is seen as a significant step toward bringing the Kashmir issue back into national political discussions. With rising tensions in the region and the ongoing human rights concerns, both leaders agreed that a unified voice from Pakistan is essential.
