MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Kashmir government has declared a public holiday on Monday, 16 February 2026, in connection with the Overseas Kashmir Conference being held in the capital city.
According to an official notification, the Overseas Kashmir Conference will take place in Muzaffarabad, where a large number of overseas Pakistanis and Kashmiris are expected to participate.
The Public holiday in AJK has been declared due to the arrival of distinguished guests and to facilitate arrangements for the conference. On this occasion, all government, semi-government, and private commercial institutions within Muzaffarabad will remain closed.
The purpose of organizing the Overseas Kashmir Conference by the Azad Kashmir government is to promote the development of the state, attract investment, and brief overseas investors on the facilities and opportunities being provided in Azad Kashmir.
Officials stated that the conference aims to strengthen ties with overseas Kashmiris and encourage them to contribute to the economic growth and progress of the region.
