ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday postponed the Liaquat Bagh rally scheduled for April 9, 2026, in light of the planned US-Iran peace talks in Islamabad on April 10, sources said.

As per details, the four PTI lawmakers have confirmed that the party has decided to postpone the Liaqat Bagh rally scheduled for tomorrow.

Rawalpindi district administration also rejected PTI’s request for a no-objection certificate (NOC) to hold a rally at Liaquat Bagh on Thursday.

Yesterday, the Rawalpindi administration also imposed Section 144 for 15 days across the district.

Earlier, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi announced a protest on April 9, the date when the party was removed from central power four years ago, after a no-confidence motion.

“Following a comprehensive assessment of the prevailing law and order situation and recent security threat alerts, and feedback from the LEAs (Law Enforcement Agencies), the Committee unanimously concluded that the requested activity cannot be held,” a notification issued by the deputy commissioner stated.
