ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The senior political leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Murad Saeed, has resigned from his Senate seat in protest and formally submitted his resignation to the party leadership.

According to party sources, Murad Saeed sent his resignation to PTI’s caretaker chairman, Barrister Gohar, and General Secretary Salman Akram Raja, while also demanding mass resignations from Parliament and all provincial assemblies.

In his statement, Murad Saeed called for collective resignations from the Senate, National Assembly, and the Punjab and Sindh Assemblies. He said that former Prime Minister Imran Khan should be provided with immediate medical treatment in the presence of his personal doctors.

He also alleged non-implementation of orders issued by the Supreme Court of Pakistan and criticized the current political situation in the country.

Murad Saeed claimed that youth supporters have been blocking highways for the past 36 hours in protest. He further alleged that members who staged peaceful sit-ins inside Parliament were surrounded.

Calling for an expansion of protests nationwide, Murad Saeed stressed the need to “strike at the roots” of the current government and urged party members to intensify their movement across the country.
