ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has warned citizens to be aware of the number of SIMs registered in their name.
According to the PTA, some people are unawar of how many SIMs are registered on their national identity card.
The PTA has said that the SIM of citizens is their identity, it is not just a chip but the key to their digital world. If a fake or stolen SIM falls into the hands of someone, the citizen’s data, bank account and even WhatsApp can be unsafe.
Explaining the procedure, the PTA said that citizens should send their identity card number to 668 without the dash, if any unrelated SIM is seen, then get it blocked immediately.
Pakistan’s 5G spectrum auction Date
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced that the spectrum auction for Next Generation Mobile Services (NGMS) 5G Spectrum in Pakistan will be held on March 10, 2026.
The final schedule for Pakistan’s 5G Spectrum auction was decided after extensive consultation with stakeholders.

According to the announcement, the approved timeline will provide adequate preparation time to telecom operators and potential bidders, and PTA is committed to ensuring maximum participation in the auction.
