LAHORE (Kashmir English): PSL X final: Lahore Qalandars sealed their place in Pakistan Super League (PSL X) history by lifting their third title, beating Quetta Gladiators in a high-energy final at Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday night.

Backed by a passionate home crowd, the Qalandars put in a complete team performance to defeat 2019 champions Quetta and secure the PSL X trophy.

Lahore Qalandars chased down 202 runs to beat Quetta gladiators by six wickets in the PSL X Final, at the packed Ghaddafi stadium.

A stunning 59-run match between Kusal Perera and Sikandar Raza off just 37 balls sealed the win, making Qalandars only the second team to lift the trophy three times, matching Islamabad United’s record.

Chasing the tough target, Lahore Qalandars started strong with openers Mohammad Naeem and Fakhar Zaman putting on 39 runs. Fakhar fell early for 11 but Naeem kept the momentum going with a fiery 47 off 27 balls, including six sixes.

Abdullah Shafique then stepped up with a quick 41, but it was Perera, who also remained unbeaten, and Raza who turned the game, smashing boundaries in the final overs to secure victory.
Earlier, Quetta Gladiators posted 201 after being put into bat.

Despite losing early wickets in the PSL X final, Hasan Nawaz’s brilliant 76 and a late blitz from Faheem Ashraf, pushed them past 200.

In his crucial cameo in the last over, Faheem Ashraf helped Quetta cross the 200-run threshold by hitting 28 off just eight balls, including several boundaries. He was removed from the game after making the last delivery of his innings.

Thanks to Shaheen Afridi’s great bowling, Qalandars dismissed Nawaz and Dinesh Chandimal early on.

With the game close throughout, Qalandars managed to give fans a thrilling ending by winning the PSL X final tournament in front of huge support.
