ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The president of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, has urged the Organization of Islamic Corporation (OIC) to play a vital role in resolving the Kashmir and Palestine issue.

During an Iftar dinner hosted for ambassadors of Islamic countries, President AJK briefed them on the latest situation in Indian-occupied Kashmir and how India’s human rights violations have increased over the period.

He stated that the Kashmir and Palestine issues are issues of the Muslim Ummah and that the Organization of Islamic Corporation (OIC) should play its role in resolving them.

According to President AJK  the United Nations resolutions on the Kashmir issue are still effective, whereas, any talks between Pakistan and India on the Kashmir issue should be tripartite and the Kashmiri people should also be seated at the negotiating table.

Chaudhry stressed the fact that the Kashmiri people are indeed the primary stakeholders in the Kashmir issue, and their rights to self-determination should be respected.

He expressed gratitude towards the OIC for its adhering support towards the self-determination of the Kashmiri people and for its disapprobation of the human rights violations in Indian-occupied Kashmir.

Besides that, the President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir expressed deep concern regarding the India and Israel alliance, coupled with their mutual aspiration of expansionism.

He further urged the Muslim nations in a combined effort to utilize individual means for putting an end to the Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir and the Israeli brutality in Palestine.

When organizing an Iftar dinner for ambassadors from Islamic nations, Chaudhry informed them about the latest situation in occupied Kashmir aggravating and dirtying human rights violations by India. Ambassadors assured Chaudhry of their total support for the Kashmir issue.
