ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The nation is celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr today (Monday) with the political leaders in both government and the opposition present at their home areas to be with their friends and families on this joyous occasion.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif celebrated Eid in Lahore with his close family members including brother Nawaz Sharif and niece Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
President Asif Zardari reached Nawabshah on Sunday to celebrate Eid in his home district while his son, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari offered Eid prayer in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, Larkana.
Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gillani reached Multan for the Eid celebrations while National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq is in Lahore. Similarly, Deputy Speaker National Assembly Ghulam Mustafa Shah offered Eid prayer in Nawabshah.
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur marked the occasion in Dera Ismail Khan while Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah celebrated Eid in Sehwan. Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti observed Eid prayers in Quetta.
Ministers celebrate Eid across the country
Federal ministers are present across the country on this joyous occasion with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Lahore, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif in Sialkot, and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in Lahore. Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Mohammad Ahmed Khan celebrated Eid in his ancestral village, Khai Hathar, in the Kasur district.
