ABBASPUR (Kashmir English): In a significant political development, the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Forward Bloc has announced that it will bring a joint candidate to contest elections in LA-18 Abbaspur, opposing Chaudhry Yaseen Gulshan.
During a press conference held in Mandhol, senior local leaders from the Forward Bloc — including District Councilors Raja Zafar Iqbal Kayani, Sardar Faisal Shafi, and Chaudhry Siddiq Qamar — shared the names of three potential candidates for the PML-N ticket. They stated that a final decision will be made soon with the goal of fielding a consensus candidate.
The leaders criticized the current state of affairs in LA-18, saying that public issues are growing while the sitting leadership has failed to deliver. “The area is in ruins,” they said. “Roads are broken, and basic health and education services are nearly non-existent.”
According to them, the public is frustrated and wants change. They emphasized that the PML-N ticket should be given to those party workers who have remained loyal and active even in tough times.
They also called on the central leadership of PML-N to involve local workers and organizations in the ticket distribution process to ensure a stronger and more trusted candidate represents LA-18.
The press conference drew a large number of party supporters, all of whom backed the Forward Bloc’s united stance. The crowd urged party leadership to make fair decisions and take steps that reflect the ground realities in LA-18.
This move by the Forward Bloc shows growing internal pressure within the party, especially in key constituencies like LA-18, where local voices are demanding change and accountability.
With elections approaching, political activity is heating up in LA-18, and this joint opposition to Yaseen Gulshan may significantly impact the upcoming contest.
