ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Political Committee for Azad Kashmir on Tuesday urged the government to negotiate with the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) ahead of the September 29 strike call.
The PML-N AJK held a crucial meeting of its political committee in Islamabad to discuss the current political and administrative situation in Azad Kashmir.
The meeting was attended by top party leaders, including Senator Rana Sanaullah Khan, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, and Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Ameer Muqam.
The committee members stressed the need to implement matters agreed upon between the Awami Committee and the AJK government, while demands that are feasible and can be implemented immediately should be resolved through negotiations.
AJK government should resolve the dispute with the JAAC through negotiations, emphasizing that the use of force would not be appropriate, it said.
The Action Committee should fulfill democratic requirements and present its demands peacefully, backed by arguments.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining public order and political tolerance in AJK, emphasizing its role in resolving political and public issues through democratic struggle.
The Advisor to PM on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah and Minister Ameer Muqam assured that the party’s suggestions would be considered at the highest level, and better decisions would be taken in the public and national interest.
The government would encourage the negotiation process between the parties, taking steps for the betterment and welfare of the people of AJK.
