BHIMBER (Kashmir English): Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Azad Kashmir Central Secretary General Chaudhry Tariq Farooq has expressed strong dissatisfaction with the current government in Azad Kashmir, citing its incompetence and irresponsibility as the root cause of various problems.
Addressing an emergency press conference at Asfandyar House in Bhimber, Farooq supported the demands of police employees who have been protesting due to the government’s failure to address their grievances.
Tariq Farooq, who is also the former Senior Minister of the Government, stated that the police should not have resorted to extreme measures, but he understands their frustration.
He expressed gratitude to the police employees for their service and assured that his party, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Azad Kashmir, would play a full role in resolving their demands. He also urged other parties to join hands in this effort.
Farooq criticized the AJK government for its blatant disregard for the judiciary, highlighting a recent case where the government recruitment committees were declared illegal by the Azad Kashmir High Court.
Despite the court’s stay order, the government issued orders with backdated dates, which he termed contempt of court. He warned that such actions would have severe consequences in the coming period.
The PML-N leader emphasized the need for collective action to address the current challenges and ensure the rule of law in Azad Kashmir. He urged all stakeholders, including other political parties, to work together to resolve the police employees’ demands and strengthen the state’s institutions.
