MUZAFFARAAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif will undertake an important two-day visit to Azad Kashmir next week on February 23-24.
According to sources, he will reach Muzaffarabad on February 23 and will conclude his visit on February 24 and return. During the visit, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will also accompany Nawaz Sharif.
Former Prime Minister Sharif will hold important meetings with the party leadership and workers of Azad Kashmir, including a meeting with President PML-N Azad Kashmir Shah Ghulam Qadir, parliamentary leader Raja Farooq Haider Khan, and other party leaders.
During the visit, the party leaders will be consulted on the current political situation, organizational matters, and the strategy for the upcoming elections. Meetings with ticket applicants for the general elections of Azad Kashmir are also expected, sources said.
Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Engineer Amir Muqam has also confirmed Nawaz Sharif’s visit. Nawaz Sharif will also visit the residence of the former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, Raja Farooq Haider, in Muzaffarabad.
During the visit, the PML-N’s election preparations will formally begin, and instructions will be issued to the party leaders regarding the upcoming strategy. Tickets for some constituencies of Azad Kashmir are also likely to be finalised during the visit.
According to sources, Mian Nawaz Sharif’s visit to Muzaffarabad was previously scheduled but postponed.
