MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Azad Kashmir has invited applications for party tickets for the upcoming general elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), scheduled for July 2026.
According to a statement issued by PML-N AJK Secretary General Chaudhry Tariq Farooq, the party’s AJK President Shah Ghulam Qadir has directed all party office bearers and workers aspiring to contest the elections to submit their applications between December 10 and December 31.
Applications will be received at the party’s Central Secretariat, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi, during official office hours.
Earlier, in a meeting on Tuesday, the PML-N’s Political Committee regarding Azad Kashmir decided to mobilise party workers and begin preparations for the forthcoming AJK elections.
The main focus of the meeting was to discuss the legal prerequisites for the general elections in AJK, including the appointment of a permanent chief election commissioner (CEC) for AJK.
The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister’s Advisor on Political Affairs Senator Rana Sanaullah Khan and the Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Engineer Amir Muqam, congratulated the newly-appointed Leader of the Opposition and President of PML-N Azad Kashmir, Shah Ghulam Qadir.
