ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Azad Kashmir held an important meeting with central party leaders in Islamabad for the second consecutive day on Tuesday and discussed political situation in the state.
According to details, an important meeting of the political committee formed by the Prime Minister of Pakistan for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Azad Jammu Kashmir was held at the office of Professor Ahsan Iqbal, Secretary General of PML-N.
Rana Sanaullah, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Political Affairs, also attended the meeting, while Engineer Amir Maqam, Minister for Kashmir Affairs, participated via video link from Geneva.
From Azad Jammu Kashmir, Party President Shah Ghulam Qadir, Senior Vice President Mushtaq Minhas, Secretary General Chaudhry Tariq Farooq, Dr. Najeeb Naqi, and Barrister Iftikhar Geelani participated.
The meeting thoroughly reviewed the current constitutional, administrative, and political situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Federal ministers took the Azad Kashmir leadership into confidence regarding the successful negotiations and agreement with the Joint Awami Action Committee and also reviewed the progress made so far on the implementation of this agreement.
The meeting thanked the Prime Minister of Pakistan for initiating the negotiation process through the committee of federal ministers in a timely manner, thereby strengthening Pakistan’s political and administrative ties with the people of Azad Kashmir, and sending a clear message to anti-Pakistan elements that the ideological and political relationship between Pakistan and the people of Jammu Kashmir will not be harmed under any circumstances.
“Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan, and no power in the world will succeed in harming the relationship between Kashmiris and Pakistan.”
PML-N AJK to meet with PM Shehbaz
It was decided in the meeting that upon the Prime Minister of Pakistan’s return from his foreign tour, he would be briefed on the progress made so far and other matters, and further political decisions would be taken.
It is worth noting that on Monday, the N-League leadership also met with Advisor to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah, during which concerns were raised about the performance of the Azad Kashmir government.
According to sources, the N-League will decide whether to remain in the government or separate within the next one or two days.
