ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan can look forward to rainfall, thunderstorms, gusty wind, and snowfall from the 30th of December to the 2nd of January, due to a widespread weather system moving through the country, said the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

The Met Department further stated that Punjab and Islamabad may see rainfall accompanied by strong winds, while thick fog is expected to intensify in various areas of Punjab.

Thunderstorms and heavy rain showers will continue in different parts of the country in Balochistan from the 29th to the 31st of December. Light rain and drizzle will hit Sindh on the 30th of December, with rain in Sindh’s Karachi, Hyderabad, Jacobabad, and Kashmore districts, and in Larkana and Badin cities.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, there will be rain and thunderstorms from December 30 to January 1, and moderate to heavy snowfall in elevated areas. Snowfall may disrupt surface transportation in the mountains, the PMD has warned.

Likewise, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir will witness the chances of rainfall, thunderstorms, and moderate snow on elevated areas from December 30 to January 2. The concerned authorities have instructed people to be careful about the precautionary measures and get themselves updated regarding the weather alert.
