BAGH (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s scheduled visit to Bagh district, Azad Kashmir, has been postponed for the second time due to expected bad weather.
The premier’s visit to Hari Gehl, Bagh, initially scheduled for tomorrow, June 20, was planned for the laying of the foundation stone of Daanish School.
This is the second time the visit has been postponed, as the first visit was postponed on March 20, 2025, due to a similar reason of bad weather.
PML-N AJK President Shah Ghulam Qadir and Senior Vice President Mushtaq Minhas were expected to host the Prime Minister’s visit.
The foundation stone of the Daanish School was to be laid in the Tehsil Hari Ghel in Central Bagh constituency. Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Anwarul Haq and federal ministers were also expected to attend the ceremony.
It should be remembered that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif laid the foundation stone of the Daanish School in Bhimber district of Azad Kashmir on January 22, 2025. The school is expected to be built by next year.
Earlier this month, the federal government, in the budget for the next fiscal year 2025-26, proposed the establishment of 11 new Daanish schools, including three in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
The finance minister, Muhammad Aurangzeb, said that Rs9.8 billion will be provided from the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the establishment of eleven schools.
