PM Shehbaz announces formation of Army Rocket Force Command

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced the formation of the Army Rocket Force Command during the Independence Day and Marka-e-Haq grand celebration in Islamabad.

Addressing the ceremony, the premier said that the Army Rocket Force Command will further strengthen Pakistan’s combat capability.

He said that in the Marka-e-Haq, Pakistan taught India a lesson of history that their future generations will remember until the Day of Judgment.  Marka-e-Haq proved that we have the full ability and strength to protect the freedom that our elders had achieved by making sacrifices, he stated.

Prime Minister congratulated the nation on the completion of 78 years of Independence Day. “Today is not an ordinary day. It has a long history, at every turn of which the sacrifices of our elders and the blood of martyrs are visible everywhere.”

He praised Field Marshal Asim Munir and other valiant commanders, describing their defence strategy as one that will echo through generations. He termed Field Marshal Munir “a great son of the nation”.

The main ceremony of Independence Day and Marka-e-Haq is underway at the Jinnah Sports Stadium in Islamabad, with the special attendance of President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, and Field Marshal Asim Munir.

A large number of Pakistani as well as foreign dignitaries are also attending the ceremony.

Also present were the Chairman of the Senate, the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Deputy Prime Minister, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, IPP President Abdul Aleem Khan, and a large number of citizens.

During the ceremony, a music band, consisting of all three armed forces, presented a magnificent march past, which was greatly appreciated by the participants.

The ceremony also featured a military parade and fly-past, special national and cultural performances.

Troops from the Pakistan Army, SSG Commandos, Navy, Pakistan Air Force, Punjab Rangers, and FC Khyber Pakhtunkhwa performed a ceremonial march past. Fighter aircraft from the Pakistan Air Force presented a salute to the President, drawing chants of “Long live Pakistan” from the crowd.

Military contingents from Azerbaijan and Turkiye also participated, delivering impressive march past displays. A combined military band comprising members of all three armed forces performed during the ceremony.
