LONDON (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has appealed to the protesters in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) to end their protest as he assured to resolve their issues.
Talking to media in London, the PM addressed the protesters, saying yours as many as 36 demands were accepted out of 38.
He said that after returning to the country, he will hold meeting with the AJK leadership.
Meanwhile, despite the protest call by the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), the situation in all AJK districts, including the capital Muzaffarabad, is normal.
Markets remained open as usual on Sunday and and traffic was smooth.
According to reports, despite the Awami Action Committee’s call for a lockdown and strike, people remained peaceful and busy shopping on Sunday, and markets remained open until late at night.
“There’s calm in AJK”
The situation in Azad Kashmir’s capital Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Rawalakot, Mirpur, and Bhimber is peaceful. No activity has been taken by the Action Committee so far, and the administration is also silent.
Most business owners have announced that they will keep their businesses open today, September 29, which suggests that the Action Committee’s call is failing, while the administration has also taken measures.
The administration claims that daily life will continue as usual today, September 29, and the strike call will not succeed.
