MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Anwarul Haq on Wednesday rejected the demand of the governing body to increase the fees of medical colleges.
According to the statement issued by the Press Information Department (PID), Prime Minister Anwarul Haq chaired a meeting of the Governing Body of Medical Colleges of Azad Jammu and Kashmir today.
During the meeting, the budget for the three medical colleges of Azad Kashmir was approved, adding that there will be no increase in the fees of medical students.
Furthermore, the premier directed that a ten-year scrutiny of the accounts of the Joint Admission Committee of medical colleges be submitted within a month.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister gave in-principle approval to upgrade the Accident and Emergency Department at AIIMS Hospital under the auspices of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Medical College, Muzaffarabad.
He further directed to prepare PC-1 and obtain approval from the Development Working Party (DWP).
The Prime Minister said that a contract policy for medical colleges should be prepared and submitted within a week, and the governing body should be given the authority to extend the extensions.
