PM AJK visits newly-constructed Atomic Energy Cancer Hospital

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq Wednesday reaffirmed his government’s resolve to ensure medical facilities to the people.

The assurance came during his visit to the newly-constructed state-of-the-art cancer hospital, Muzaffarabad, a project completed with cooperation and financial assistance of the government of Pakistan.

Speaking on this occasion, Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq described the health facility as a valuable gift from the federal government to the region.

The PM said that it was his long-cherished desire to see a state-of-the-art cancer treatment facility in Azad Kashmir.

He announced that the Health Services Department would provide all possible operational support to the Hospital.

The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over state-of-the-art machinery and cutting-edge medical equipment available at the hospital.

Hospital cost Rs 5.4 billion

It is worth mentioning here that the Hospital, completed at a cost of Rs 5.4 billion, will play a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment of life-threatening diseases like cancer.

During his visit, the Prime Minister inspected various departments of the Hospital and reviewed the treatment facilities being provided to patients.

He also received a comprehensive briefing from Dr. Shazia Fatima, the DG NMO, about various departments and the modern diagnostic and treatment machinery available for the treatment of various types of cancer.
