MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Director General of Civil Defense, Azad Kashmir, Captain (R) Abrar Azam, has announced that Civil Defense volunteers will receive free treatment and medicines in all public hospitals across the state.
DG Civil Defense has written a letter to all District Health Officers across the state, directing them to offer free medical treatment to registered Civil Defense volunteers.
The letter added that the “volunteers helped the public with the Civil Defense department voluntarily without any remuneration during every emergency.”
In addition, they perform security-related duties along with the administration on any religious festival, Muharram, Eid, Milad-un-Nabi and other national events, it added.
The letter, signed by DG Civil Defense, mentioned that the volunteer also performed emergency duties day and night without any remuneration during the recent war.
Citing their services for the nation and administration, the Civil Defense chief directed the health official to provide free medical facilities to the registered volunteers of the Civil Defense Organization.
