ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, has paid rich tributes to the founding leaders of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) on its 58th Foundation Day.
“On this historic day, I pay tribute to our great leaders Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, who made eternal sacrifices for democracy, the Constitution, and the rule of law,” the AJK premier said.
Expressing full faith and confidence in the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Faryal Talpur, he saluted the party workers who upheld the PPP manifesto in letter and spirit.
The Prime Minister said, as the elected head of the liberated territory, he took pride in the PPP’s historic and unwavering support for the rights, development, and political aspirations of the people of Azad Kashmir, as well as its consistent stand on the Kashmir issue.
“We are committed to Bhutto Sahib’s vision, in which the equal development of all units of the state holds central importance,” he said, adding that his public mandate was a testament to this trust.
He noted that the recent change in government had generated a wave of optimism among the poor, the working class, and the middle class in Azad Kashmir.
“Reducing the economic burden on our people, creating new employment opportunities, and strengthening social security programs are our government’s top priorities,” he added.
The Prime Minister said his government’s policies would be grounded in merit, transparency, and accountability.
PPP govt’s priorities
“We will transform the bureaucracy into a genuine servant of the people and eliminate political interference from institutions,” he said, adding that his vision was to lead Azad Kashmir toward new heights of development and prosperity, where the youth can secure a dignified and bright future.
He reiterated his resolve to fulfil the founding leaders’ dream of establishing a vibrant and self-sufficient state rooted in justice, transparency, and equal opportunities for all.
