ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq has assured teachers of upgradation and resolving other issued being faced by them.
He met with Central President of the Azad Kashmir School Teachers Organization, Muhammad Tasif Shaheen, along with a delegation, for over two hours at Kashmir House here Monday.
Shaheen thoroughly briefed the Prime Minister on the issues faced by the teachers and the unrest among them, and had a detailed discussion on scale upgradation.
The delegation paid tribute to the Prime Minister’s efforts in reforming the education department and resolving teachers’ issues.
The Prime Minister assured the delegation that he had announced the upgradation of teachers last year on the assembly floor and later at a public gathering in Trar Khel, and is making every possible effort to uphold the sanctity of his words.
He said that funds have been allocated for upgradation, and now he desires its implementation along with the educational package, including rationalization.
Teachers scale upgradation
“Very soon, this long-standing demand for teachers scale upgradation will be fulfilled with the educational package, and a formal notification will be issued.”
The Prime Minister said that work has already been done on the department’s pending selection boards for all teacher cadres, time scales, seniority, and promotions, and in the future, legitimate issues of teachers will also be resolved with top priority.
Teachers should focus fully on performing their duties; this government is the protector of all their rights.
The President of the School Teachers’ Organization especially thanked the Prime Minister for taking representatives of teachers on board for educational reforms and the package, and assured the Prime Minister that teachers are determined to restore public trust in government educational institutions in the near future through their hard work and dedication.
