ISLAMABAD  (Kashmir English): The initial investigation report of the PIMS tragedy has been submitted to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

According to media reports, the head of the inquiry committee, former Interior Secretary Shahid Khan, submitted the report of the PIMS tragedy to the Prime Minister.

The report was submitted to the office of the Prime Minister’s Advisor Tauqir Shah late last night.

Reports say that Tauqir Shah has sent the report to the Prime Minister and has also informed him of its contents and recommendations.

According to media reports, the inquiry committee has confirmed that the report has been sent to the Prime Minister’s Office, and the Prime Minister has been given the authority to make the report public.

The report is signed by all members of the inquiry committee, and the committee has also determined the causes and those responsible for the PIMS tragedy.

Moreover,  the report also mentions the problems faced by the rescue teams in the rescue operations, recommends action against the relevant PIMS staff who were absent, and makes recommendations to avoid such accidents in the future.

Interviews with the PIMS administration and doctors are also part of the report, while statements from the fire brigade rescue teams are also included in the report.

Sources say that the report also mentions the treatment and inadequate facilities at the PIMS hospital, and it is also written that nothing is as per international standards.

The report recommends immediate action to the Prime Minister against those responsible.
