ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is going to launch its pre-Hajj flight operation from tomorrow (April 29) to take thousands of pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for Hajj this year.

According to the schedule issued by the national flag carrier, the first Hajj flight will depart from Islamabad on April 29. On the same day, flights will also take off from Multan and Quetta, carrying pilgrims directly to Madinah.

As part of the operation, another PIA flight will depart from Lahore for Madinah on April 30, followed by a flight from Karachi on May 2.

Special Hajj arrangements

The airline has made special arrangements to ensure a smooth and comfortable journey for intending pilgrims.

Furthermore, a 47-member Saudi delegation is set to arrive at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport today under the “Road to Makkah” project.

The delegation will first arrive at Islamabad International Airport and is likely to land Karachi later in the afternoon.

During the visit, the Saudi authorities will review immigration arrangements at Pakistani airports.

Under the “Road to Makkah” initiative, Pakistani intending pilgrims will complete their immigration process at Karachi Airport itself, rather than upon arrival in Saudi Arabia.

The Karachi airport immigration process will allow pilgrims to exit directly from the Saudi Arabia airport, significantly easing their travel experience.
