KARACHI (Kashmir English): Petrol prices in Pakistan are likely to increase during the upcoming fortnightly review for June 2025, as the global oil prices are already on the rise following the Iran-Israel escalation.
Oil prices increased 7 percent in the international market as Iran and Israel exchanged air strikes, in a situation that could affect oil supply from the Middle East.
Brent crude futures settled at $74.23 a barrel, up $4.87, or 7.02 percent, on Friday. Brent crude was up 12.5 percent from a week ago.
Expected New Prices of Petrol from June 16
With the heightened tensions in the Middle East, reports claimed that petrol prices could potentially rise by Rs4.38 per litre, moving the price of petrol to Rs258.01 per litre from the previous price of Rs253.63.
Likewise, the high-speed diesel price may also increase by Rs5.02 per litre, moving the price of diesel to Rs259.66 from the previous price of Rs254.64.
