LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) opened the bidding process for two new franchises, marking the beginning of expansion in the Pakistan Super League.

This step represents the important moment when the league expanded from six to eight teams, with the move sustaining the board’s confidence in the rising popularity of cricket and the strong demand for more regional representation.

The board has now invited interested groups to submit their technical proposals. All submissions should be completed by 15 December.

The proposals will be reviewed the same day at eleven thirty in the morning. Only those bidders who meet the technical standards will go to the next round.

The announcement also indicated a list of cities that could host the new franchises, including Hyderabad, Sialkot, Muzaffarabad, Faisalabad, Gilgit, and Rawalpindi. The final choice depends on the qualified bidders and the cities they will choose for ownership of franchises.
