Pakistani students secure third position in World Scholar’s Cup

DOHA: In a remarkable achievement, Pakistani students have displayed an outstanding performance at the World Scholar’s Cup Global Round, held in Doha, Qatar, from June 11 to 17, securing a third position globally.

As per details, the team from Atchison College Lahore, comprising Ibrahim Usman Ajmal, Muhammad Ahmad Zulfiqar, and Hussain Aslam Bhinder, achieved third position overall in the Global Round and ranked first in the entirety of Asia.

In addition to that, Muhammad Ahmad Zulfiqar earned 1st place individually among hundreds of participants. In total, three senior division teams from Atchison College claimed 92 medals and 11 trophies.

This is the first time Pakistani students have on the World Scholar’s Cup global round, which has qualified them for the Tournament of Champions, to be hosted at Yale University, USA, later this year.

The competition was held between 1700 delegates from more than 50 countries, including academic powerhouses such as the USA, UK, India, and several
African nations.

The Competition has multiple categories, including team debates, team writing, the scholar’s bowl (a quiz-like bowl on the provided syllabus), as well as the individual challenge, like an MCQ test comprising 120 questions based on the WSC syllabus.
