LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Pakistan,West Indies (WI) is expected to to feature only three T20 Internationals, due to the insistence of the WI board.

According to details, Pakistan was set to play three T2oI matches in the United States this August, followed by three One day Internationals In the Wes Indies.

However, Pakistan Cricket Board requested the West Indies board to replace the ODIs with T20I, but the host board did not agree.

Negotiations on the series was also failed in Singapore ,and now the series will be limited. In view of this year’s Asia Cup and next year’s T20 World Cup, the PCB had requested the West Indies Cricket Board to convert the ODIs into T20Is.

Discussions were underway in this regard that the host board should also start selling tickets for T20s and ODIs.

During the ongoing ICC meetings in Singapore, both boards discussed this issue, but the West Indies were adamant. They said that they would not back down from what they had announced. Due to this stubbornness, the fear of not having an ODI series has increased.

The series will be limited to only three T20 matches, an announcement is expected soon. According to reports, the selection of the Pakistani squad for the tour was delayed due to this same reason.

Moreover, An announcement for the squad will be made as the situation regarding the series is clear. Most of the players who are part of the squad for Bangladesh series are expected to be retained.

Notably, the T20 matches of the Pak-West Indies series are scheduled to be held on August 1, 3 and 4. The host board had announced that the ODI matches will be held on August 8, 10 and 12.
